Overseas Residency Program for Korean Writers
- Purpose
- LTI Korea sends Korean writers to publishing hubs around the world in order to build connections with universities and people in the publishing industry in these localities. The program takes into consideration market trends in these areas to promote an invigorated and engaging advance of Korean literature overseas.
- Details
- Residencies at major universities in publishing hubs in countries including U. S., France, Germany and Spain, are undertaken by selected individual writers (with airfare and living expenses provided).
- Qualification Requirements
- Korean poets, fiction writers, children’s writers or playwrights who have made their literary debut and had at least one collection of their works published
- Necessary Requirements: must be available to travel abroad
- Preferred Candidates: preference is given to those who are proficient in English and the relevant language of the country where the residency will take place
- Writers who have not previously undertaken an LTI Korea residency will be given preference, in the event that there is no candidate considered suitable no participant will be selected
- Residencies Undertaken in 2012: 5 residencies in 4 countries
