Residency Program for Translation Research in Korean Literature
- Purpose
- The LTI Korea hosts the Residency Program for Translation Research in Korean Literature to offer the very best translators the opportunity to come face to face with the flow of Korean literary and creative culture and gain a deeper understanding of the works they work on. The experience is intended to facilitate the production of truly outstanding translations.
- Target Participants (Qualifications and Conditions)
- Translators or scholars translating Korean literary/cultural/arts texts residing overseas who meet with one of the following conditions.Has had at least 1 translated work (literature/cultural/arts) published overseasHas been the recipient of a Korean or international prize for the translation of a Korean literary, cultural or artistic textAs a scholar, has made a significant contribution to the dissemination of Korean literature overseas* Those who have benefitted from this program within the last three years (2010-2012) are not eligible
- Support Offered
- Financial Support: Living expenses (around 3 million KRW per month) and return airfare (provided separately from living expenses)
- Activities Provided: meetings between translators and writers to enable outstanding translation, literary tours, translations seminars etc.
- Program Period: May 2013 - February 2014

- Length of Stay: 1-3 months within the program period

- Application and Announcement of Successful Candidates
- Required Documents1) Residency Program application form(fixed format, can be downloaded from the LTI Korea website)
2) Personal statement (any format, around 3 pages of A4)3) Translation research activity proposal (any format, around 4 pages of A4)
